D'vera Gudrun
Story: Alamorah Trilogy
Age: 28
Race: Giant/Human
Description: She is an impressive eight foot two inches in height. Her stature makes her a rather foreboding and very intimidating figure. Her dark indigo blue eyes are intense and very scrutinizing when she looks at a person. Her, dark brown hair is usually braided and hangs down to her waist to keep it from getting in her way. She's been thinking of just chopping it all off, but doesn't really favor the short look as it does nothing for her visage. She has a pleasant rounded face which is rather unremarkable, save for a few scars scattered here and there from her days as a slave. She has dark olive toned skin, making her look like a greek goddess. She has a rather broad nose, which used to bug her to no end now she's much more accepting of it. Her hands are completely callused over and rough to the touch from her days as a slave and farm hand.
Clothing: gray tunic, dark gray leggings, chain mail shirt and skirt, leather boots, face guard, upper body armor and leg armor.
Position: Warrior, Judicator
Personality and More: D'vera is a very thoughtful insightful individual and more so keeps her thoughts to herself until she's ready to share. She's also pretty quiet and more intuitive about others, often seeing and noticing things that other people might miss. When she does confront people about things, she's very careful to be cautious with how she says things. She's a gentle giant, and prefers to preserve life than to take it. When forced to take up her sword and fight, she's a force to be reckoned with. She's a powerhouse
Abilities: speaks several languages: High Elven, Haldirian and Skorlauth.
Weapons: enchanted long sword and shield, broad sword.
History: D'vera was born the child of a human man and a giantess. Being a halfbreed in giant society she was pretty much ostracized and looked down on. When the Northern barbarians invaded the giant homeland she and her mother were carried off as spoils of war. It is possible to take a giant by surprise and overcome them by brute force if you have enough men and fire power.
D'vera was sold as a slave to a farmer at the age of 8. For five years she did the job of a grown man and was treated horribly by her master. Finally she had enough and ran away. She was caught by a group of rogues and forced into the gladiator ring to fight for her life. This is where she got most of her scars and learned how to fight to the death. D'vera won her freedom from the gladiator ring four years later.
Upon gaining her freedom, D'vera searched out the Nacceaus druid order in hopes they'd be able to help her find her mother and people. With there help she was able to discover her mother had died several years before in an attempted escape from where she was being held. Heartbroken, D'vera took the druid's offer to train and get an education. Unknown to her, the druids knew of a prophecy concerning a half breed that would return the Island of Alamorah back to it's former glory. For the next five years she was trained in hopes she would fulfill the prophecy.
It wasn't until her final year on her 21st birthday that the gods came showed themselves at her dedication ceremony to reveal that she was in fact something much different. The gods gifted her with a magical blade and armor that would protect her from any earthly and archaic magics, and named her a Judicator. Before D'vera; the world of Alamorah had not known a judicator for at least two hundred years.
Upon receiving the job of Judicator, D'vera took up her sword and her knowledge and began traveling and judging those who were in need of punishment for their crimes. For the first year or two she traveled on her own serving the races and bringing justice to those who needed it. She quickly grew disillusioned and annoyed by the people's depravities and was ready to call it quits. This was when she met up with her companions and was relieved to find she wasn't alone in her work. It didn't take her or her companions long to see that if they worked together they could make much more good happen than if they went their separate ways. They have been working together for the past five years and will continue to do so until there is peace in their part of the world.
